3G Toe Cap

Here are the instructions for replacing the toe cap:

  1. Take a slotted screwdriver and break the glued portion of the toe cap loose by pushing it between the cap and the shoe. You may need to apply some pressure and turn the screwdriver both on the top and bottom of the shoe.

  2. Flip the shoe over with the sole facing up. Insert the screwdriver between the toe cap and the bottom of the shoe to separate the Velcro and remove the toe cap.

  3. Clean any remaining contact cement from the shoe using a razor knife if necessary.

  4. Check the fit of the new toe cap by doing a “dry run.” Depending on the size, you may need to trim a small amount of excess material from the bottom of the toe cap. Use a sharp razor knife to carefully trim it.

  5. Apply a thin layer of contact cement to the inside of the new toe cap, focusing mostly on the top side. Also, apply contact cement to the corresponding part of the shoe. Allow the glue to cure for approximately 2-3 minutes before proceeding.

  6. Place a thin cardboard piece between the toe cap and the shoe to keep the Velcro separated. This will allow you to push the toe cap all the way up against the front of the shoe with minimal resistance. Once you are satisfied with the fit on the front of the shoe, remove the cardboard and press the toe cap together with the Velcro. You can apply another thin layer of contact cement between the edge of the cap and the traction sole to seal the toe cap.

  7. Allow the shoe to dry for at least 24 hours before attempting to bowl.

Following these instructions will help you properly replace the toe cap on your bowling shoe. Ensure that the contact cement is fully cured before using the shoe to ensure a secure and durable bond.
